ABOUT DR. OLRICK

Dr. Jeffrey Olrick is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with children and families. He is a graduate of the University of Miami (B.A.) and the University of Virginia (M.Ed. and Ph.D.) Curry Programs in Clinical and School Psychology and completed a two-year Fellowship at the Mary Ainsworth Child-Parent Attachment Clinic at the University of Virginia. Dr. Olrick has over 12 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings, including residential and outpatient treatment, the public school system, UVA and MCV Hospitals, and private practice. He is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Dr. Olrick has specialized training in the identification and treatment of attachment issues, training with Dr. Patricia Crittenden at the University of Miami and Dr. Bob Marvin at the University of Virginia. He was part of a research team headed by Sir Michael Rutter of the Institute of Psychiatry in London for the Romanian Adoption Project, a study following developmental issues in adoptees from Romanian orphanages. He lives in Newport News, Virgina with his wife, Amy, and two children.
